Sport
We have a proud tradition of sporting excellence at Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport. Our students compete, locally, nationally and internationally in a wide variety of sports. We have a regular roster of fixtures for football, rugby, hockey, netball, cricket, basketball and athletics. Students also play a large number of other sports both in P.E. lessons and in our extra-curricular clubs.
Our legacy of sporting achievement includes a number of highly successful athletes who started their careers with us. People such as Matthew Holland (football), Emma Deary (triathlon), Laura Sugar (T44 100 and 200m), George Peasgood (para-triathlon) and Laura Armorgie (high jump) all went to our school and have represented their country in their respective sports.
